Prism Pharmaceuticals’ Study of Injectable Clopidogrel Accepted for Presentation at the American College of Cardiology

First Time IV Formulation of Clopidogrel, the Active Ingredient in PLAVIX® (clopidogrel bisulfate), Is Studied in Humans

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., February 9, 2009. Prism Pharmaceuticals announced today that the results of the first-in-man study of PM103, a novel intravenous formulation of clopidogrel bisulfate (the active ingredient in PLAVIX), has been accepted for poster presentation at the 58th Scientific Session of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) on March 30, 2009. The poster will be presented at the ACC's Innovation in Intervention: i2 Summit 2009 in partnership with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.

PM103 is a proprietary, novel intravenous formulation of clopidogrel bisulfate. Clopidogrel is the active ingredient in PLAVIX, an orally available antiplatelet drug marketed by Bristol-Myers Squibb and sanofi-aventis. PM103 is being developed in collaboration with CyDex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as an alternative dosage form to oral PLAVIX for use in the acute care setting.
